Title: A new approach to thermodynamic analysis of phase transitions. 18 p., fig.
Language: English
Abstract. The paper proposes a new approach to thermodynamic
analysis of phase transitions based on the thermodynamics of
interacting systems. The use of the concept of interaction
permits to represent a phase transition as a multi-stage process.
At each stage of this process, the pure substance displays the
properties of a binary system. The proposed thermodynamic model
determines the areas of the interphase and cluster solutions, and
the region of heterogeneous separation with no additional
measurements carried out.The thermodynamic theory worked out
comprises not only a closed set of equations for predicting the
properties of the pure substance at each stage of phase
transition, but also conditions of transition from one stage to
another.
