Physics Cup - 2018, December 2017 - May 2018

The winners of Physics Cup - 2018:

1. Navneel Singhal from ALLEN Kota, India: 12.3 pts + bonus for problems 3-5 (yet to be calculated).
2. Tóbiás Marozsák, Óbudai Árpád Gimnázium, Hungary (9th place at EuPhO-2018): 10.0 pts.
3. Thomas Bergamaschi, Colegio Etapa Valinhos-Brazil: 9.1 pts + bonus for problems 3-5.
While, in principle, the bonus points could change the order of participants, in the current case it will not happen (I have already compared the relevant solutions - JK).
Compilation of the final results (together with the publication of the best solutions) will take some more time and will be published at the bottom of this page within few days.

The rules of Physics Cup - 2018:

The rules were the same as for Physics Cup-IPhO2012 (Eng) except that
(a) there were only 5 problems;
(b) a new problems was published on the last Sunday of each month, 2 p.m. (GMT) here, and was sent to the registered participants by e-mail;
(c) the registration e-mail is physcs.cup@gmail.com (NB! there is no "i" in the name);
Few things to notice:
(a) this competition has no relation to any other competition, except that some problems which have been judged to be too difficult for the EuPhO and other competitions may find their way into this competition;
(b) there is no guarantee for awards other than diploma (hopefully there will be some awards);
(c) students can participate regardless in which country they study;
(d) university and college students can take part as unofficial participants, and their results will be included into the ranking list with the corresponding notice.
